About Us

We have long admired the Arabian horse. In 1976 we attended our first Arabian horse show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We met a young lady, Julie Goder Larson, who suggested and encouraged us to attend the U.S. Nationals, we did and we were hooked. The friendships we have forged thru the horses are priceless.

Our first purebred mare, Zephyra, was a Fadjur granddaughter. After numerous park championships we bred her to Al Marah Canadius. A year later our first foal, a filly named Canadette, was born. With help from Dick Leadley and Carolyn Gardner, Canadette won championships and top tens in both Halter and English Pleasure. After selling her, she was bred to Afire Bey V and produced Can Can Dancer, who went on to win a U.S. National Championship in Junior English Pleasure.

Through the years we became interested in straight Russian horses. After attending many seminars and traveling in the U.S.and abroad, we bred to Napitok and acquired 2 horses from Holland; a filly by Antey, named, Antinka, and a Moment daughter named, Scena. Scena was bred to Menes two times, resulting in a colt named, Menescen, and a filly, we call Menestina. Both of them were outstanding race horses. Menescen was also a very competitive halter stallion and undefeated in liberty!

Although tempted at times to expand our beautiful, yet small 9 stall barn and arena, we held steadfast to the concept of quality, not quantity. Through the years we have foaled over 30 foals ourselves while waiting for the vet. It was a time of great anxiety, but unforgettable beauty. The sires we chose included, Muscat, El Ghazi, Namiet, Posnedjnik, Menes, Napitok, Wisdom, Al Marah Canadius, Ponomarev, Menescen and Foxfire BHF. Of this exceptional group of stallions, the one closest to our heart is our own stallion of 8 years, FoxFire BHF. It's special to look back at our years with him. We purchased him in the spring of 1999 as a yearling. He was such a competitor, whether winning in halter with Jeff Schall or riding to a win with Larry Hoffman, he always gave one hundred percent. He embodied what we continually strive for, beauty that can perform! We sold Foxfire to Jill Gregson of Australia in 2007. He has a great new home! We have retained a few of Foxfire's special daughters. It should be exciting, as we begin a new chapter for Park Place Arabians.

Our newest acquisition is a beautiful Padron Psyche daughter, Carinosaa, sold to us by Dr. Bert and Ruth Husband. Carinosaa recently presented us with a spectacular Marwan Al Shaqab colt. It is amazing to think about 30 plus years with these magnificent creatures. We truly believe our greatest success, as breeders, is just around the corner! As Bill loves to state, “the best is yet to come".
